    Perfect Day

    Yesterday was a perfect day.

    Chapter 1

    my teacher friend Brenda

    got married!

    everyone was there

there was a big smoking cake

but I never got to eat any :(

    then she got married again!

    this time Korean style

I drank some booze with her father

    Chapter 2

after the wedding I met up with this guy

    and then this kid

    we rode to a temple

    and I saw this worm

    these jars

    and these pictures

there was a little baby Buddhist boy praying on a giant rock

    but it wasn't a real a boy

the shutters on the temple were dusty

    but the flowers were clean

    the kids were clean too

    so I picked them up

    Chapter 3

near the temple, there was a river

I put my foot in it

and then played with shutter speeds

my toes aren't actually this red

my toe nails are actually this disgusting

    I decided to jump in

    wash

    and relax

    Chapter 4

it was evening and the air was cool, so I visited our garden

my girlfriend and I started it,

but Shway and Joe have helped us along the way

it went from looking like this

    to this

when I finished sewing the seeds it looked this this

    Chapter 5

I went home, showered, ordered a combination cheese crust pizza for 5 bucks and watched a movie.

    Yesterday was a perfect day.

    Super User Friendly

So my mom tells me she couldn't get my song to play because the site required her to have a membership. Right away I knew she had clicked on the "Download MP3" button versus the "HiFi" button I had taken the time to so clearly describe in my instructions right above the link. Turns out it played just fine for her after she followed the instructions.

I realize it has nothing to do with moms, people just don't care to read instructions. Thus, I have made yet another effort to simplify things... for my mother and the rest of the world.

Check out each track and then leave a comment! Be sure to indicate which track you liked best and, if possible, tell us why... then we can quit our day jobs and get to being superstar dj's :)

    Teacher's Day

Every year Korean's all over Korea celebrate Teacher's day. This will be my first Teacher's Day, and I must say I'm getting excited. The day started with me riding out to teach kindergarten in Indong and finding the school completely abandoned. Not entirely disappointed by the fact I wasn't teaching, I lounged on the steps in the warm morning sun eating my gim bop.

Despite this day having been created solely for teachers, Hogwans refuse to allow their employees to enjoy a day away from class. That's OK though, I'll just compensate by taking it easy in class this afternoon... very easy.

I'm hoping for a good yield of gifts from my students - I've been mimicking the ways of the Korean teachers, building the kids up for this important day with frequent reminders and plenty of little gifts to create a sense of indebtedness. It's especially important I receive lots of presents because many students and teachers alike believe quantity of presents correlates directly to "teacher love".

My arch nemesis in the teacher love department, Joy, has been working equally hard and building up her students for this day. But it must be notes that the odds are in her favor... she is cute, she is female and she has larger and younger classes!

I'll report back after the battle this evening.

    Give & Take

So I promised myself I would start making a track every few weeks about a month ago. I committed to finishing up some the 20 or so half composed song ideas decomposing in various folders on my Mac. Now my blog, movies and photos go neglected as I spend late nights keying out tunes of my Korg. But I'm happy... I'll just accept the fact I'm a binge artist... half a year of this, half a year of that. It's been nine months since I put out a new track.

Give it a listen here: SuddenDesire click on the "HiFi" button.
